Where is Change a Life Foundation Located?
The Foundation is located in Southern California at 5 Corporate Park, Suite 210, Irvine, CA 92606.

Can I hand deliver my grant application to Change a Life Foundation?
Grants should be completed online by the deadline date specified on the Change a Life Foundation website. The Foundation will not accept late applications.

What qualifies as an emergency grant request?
The request must be life threatening and crisis in nature.

How many vendor quote worksheets do I submit with each grant?
A separate vendor worksheet needs to be completed online for EACH item or service requested in the grant. Each worksheet should include the research process conducted to find the vendor quote. Please do not forget to include Tax, shipping and handling, or other fees that may be applicable.

When a revision has been requested on a grant how do I submit it to the Foundation?
All revisions should be submitted online to the foundation. Please do not send a hard copy of the revision through the mail. In order for the grant to be considered the revision must be submitted by the deadline given. If a revised vendor quote is requested, please email or fax the quote after updating the vendor quote worksheet and budget in the online application.

One of my grants has been tabled, what does that mean?
Occasionally, during the Grant Review meeting additional questions arise that the Foundation staff are unable to answer. When this occurs the grant is tabled for staff to inquire to seek out the answers and report back to the Grant Committee. The Executive Director will contact you with the questions posed by the Board.

How long does it take until I hear if my grant has been approved by the Foundation?
Typically it is six weeks between the deadline date for a grant and the date you would receive the grant monies for an approved grant.

How will I be notified if my grant is approved?
On the day of the Grant Committee Meeting the Executive Director will notify all organization contacts listed on the applications of the results of the grant meeting. Within a week and a half you will receive a formal approval letter and the grant allocation check sent to your Executive Director or Chief Executive Officer.

How can I submit an organizational grant?
Our Executive Director manages organizational grants. As a rule of thumb, a partner non-profit organization should have submitted at least 5 individual grants in a calendar year prior to contacting the Executive Director to discuss a potential organizational grant.

How can I determine if my client meets the low income guidelines of the Foundation?
Go to the Guidelines/Applications page of the Change a Life Foundation website. The HUD low income guidelines are posted as a Word document under “Other Forms” at the bottom of the website page.

How can I help my client find out if they qualify for a reverse mortgage?
The best place to start is by using the Reverse Mortgage calculator provided on the AARP website. www.rmaarp.com We also recommend that you speak to your local banker.
